[Asterisk-Users] OT: google groups Asterisk-test and now Asterisk-Users marked as spam on Gmail
Starting around Apr 14th Gmail has started marking all messages for Asterisk-Users as spam. Prior to that on google groups someone created a asterisk-test group (seperate from this group). Is this perhaps related? I believe it all has happened within a week time frame. Gmail is a great service but if this is what's going to happen I will quit using gmail. I'm giving a shot out to see any other gmail users out there having this problem. My Asterisk-Dev seems to be unaffected. Who's having similiar issues? I do know this: the day before it was posted here that google groups is archiving this list I got 2 messages, one on each of two other lists I am on saying google groups now archives those lists. These were from google. The week following it being posted that there is a google group for this list people on this list (myself specifically) were critical of google for doing this (at that time, becuase of the two other lists the day before it appeared to be google sponsored). This critisism included the one-way nature of the group. They get content from here but do not return any. Now the list is marked as spam, when it is clear that you must register and go through a confirmation process. This is not a spam list of any kind. Interesting string of coincidences. -- Trixter http://www.0xdecafbad.com UK +44 870 340 4605 Germany +49 801 777 555 3402 US +1 360 207 0479 or +1 516 881 8487 FreeWorldDialup: 635378 -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed... Yep. Thought it was just my kids messing around with my gmail settings, but I guess not. It's been happening here too. :-/ On 4/15/05, Sig Lange <sig.lange@gmail.com> wrote:> Starting around Apr 14th Gmail has started marking all messages for > Asterisk-Users as spam. I have. I keep going to the Spam folder, select them and click "Not spam" Maybe if we all do this, it will fix the problem Hoping we can keep using gmail !

Same here... pratically all Asterisk mail now going to the Spam folder. I keep "un-spamming" them.

If you use that gateway, you can read and post to this list via a newsreader. You need to stay subscribed though to those lists which require subscriptions, but you then can disable mail delivery to your inbox on your respective list options page. Also, upon first time posting to a particular list, gmane will take you through a otherwise painless registration procedure, as detailed on their website. Advantages: * pull semantics (news) vs. push (mail) * especially no more cluttering or drowning of your mail inbox * also, lightens the load on the digium list server(s) * no more unconfigurable spam filters bullshitting you (gamil). Disadvantages: * initial setup * those who don't know how to deal with news/usenet might have a difficult time using it. Regards, Bruno.
