[Asterisk-Users] ni1 (ppp) and national isdn on te110p
I was wondering how to divide channels into data and voice in zapata.conf and zaptel.conf. I have a PRI line. On half the channels I would like to set up a direct dial to one of our clients ISDN modems (done via ni1) so that I can provide internet access. I would like the other half to handle the DID numbers so that Asterisk can make phone calls. How do I go about doing this? Thank you, Jason McAffee The Technology Group

More specifically, I have a client that we supply internet access to. I would like Asterisk to dial this client and maintain a constant connection over two channels. I thought that it may be done with the ZapRas command (http://www.voip-info.org/wiki-Asterisk+cmd+ZapRAS) but it seems that with zapras you have to wait for the client to call, as opposed to initiating the call. So how would I get Asterisk to call my client's Pipline ISDN modem and establish a data connection, assigning IP's to the connection, etc.? I'm thinking it is through PPPD, but I don't know how to reference the zaptel device, nor do I know how to bind the PPPD session to the specified channels in zapata.conf.
