asterisk users - Apr 2005 - Asterisk T.38 framing

Hi All,

I'm investigating what it would take to setup some IP based fax servers, 
and was wondering if Asterisk could help in the following scenario.

 From what I understand, to do FaxOverIP you need to following:

1. A FaxOverIP anabled fax server
2. Some device that takes a standard PSTN input and frames the output 
into T.38 packes that can then be routed anywhere across your IP network.

Do I have the convcept right at all :) ?
Does Asterisk have the ability to be this T.38 framing host?
