Hi,
For madplay, install it, then put this into your musiconhold.conf
(adjusting the paths, of course):
[classes]
default =>
custom:/usr/local/share/asterisk/mohmp3/,/usr/local/bin/madplay -Q -z
--fade-in --mono -R 8000 --output=raw:-
Subjectively, the quality is a little worse than with mpg123 though.
