asterisk users - Jan 2005 - Asterisk as root in realtime vs. non-root asterisk ?

Hi,

what would be general choice between those two options?  They are related to
two different things: security, performance.

But what would I loose if I run as non-root without realtime priority ?

What do you mean "realtime priority"? I've never noticed a
difference in
performance by running an app as root vs running as non-root.

We run our asterisk servers all in non-root and have no problems.
