[Asterisk-Users] Zaptel FXO channel picked up too early => no audio
I am experiencing a rather strange problem. exten => s,1,Answer exten => s,2,Background(welcome) ... other auto attendant stuff ... will result in the calling party not getting any audio (neither ringing feedback nor IVR audio) if callling in from the PSTN on an X100P. However ... exten => s,1,Dial(SIP/1000,5,r) exten => s,2,Answer exten => s,3,Background(welcome) ... other auto attendant stuff ... works just fine in the very same scenario (PSTN caller coming in on X100P). I have also tried Wait(5) and Ringing followed by Wait(5) but those don't help. The caller will only get audio if an actual phone is left ringing for at least five seconds. Otherwise the following autoattendent will not be heard by the caller. This is quite annoying because this particular auto-attendant was meant to be quiet. signalling on the FXO is fxs_ks, callerid detection is off, busydetect is on. Has anybody seen this sort of thing? Any ideas? thanks rgds benjk -- Sunrise Telephone Systems, 9F Shibuya Daikyo Bldg., 1-13-5 Shibuya, Tokyo, Japan. NB: Spam filters in place. Messages unrelated to the * mailing lists may get trashed.

I had a similar problem once but on inbound PRI channels. If I answered the call and tried to playback a sound file it was as if there was no speech path. You could see on the console that the playback was taking place, but never hear any audio on the channel, and then it would finally timeout and disconnect. If instead of answer and playback, I sent the call to a SIP station you could answer the ringing terminal and have normal two-way speech path. It drove me nuts for several days. How I ended up fixing the problem was by running /sbin/ztcfg (for a second time), unload asterisk and then restart asterisk and/or reboot. That fixed the problem for me and I have not seen it occur since.
