[Asterisk-Users] New Channel Driver: chan_bluetooth
Hi, after a couple of days work banging my head against the wall (bloody standards my arse), i've got chan_bluetooth to a point where it's starting to function - certianly more than just proof of concept now. The code is far, far from stable, and only been tested with one dongly (Cambridge Silicon), and two devices (Nokia 6310i and a HBH-200 headset) - and even those devices are not FULLY functional yet. I can make and recieve calls through the devices, at times though ;) So why am I announcing it when it doesn't even work properly? I'd like to get people testing it with their devices and bluetooth adapters, see if it will pair, see debug output - see what phones/headsets do and don't work, see what documentation i need to add for setting it up, and of course get some general feedback about peoples wishes/views on the module. Code is at <http://www.crazygreek.co.uk/chan_bluetooth> Follow instructions on that page, or ask on list [1] when you encounter problems! Please, let me have some feedback so i can get this driver working properly with all HeadsetProfile devices! ~ Theo [1] - <http://tribble.crazygreek.co.uk/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/chan_bluetooth> -- Theo P. I won't be able to play with it until the weekend, but it's great to see progress. Scott
I'll see that I can test this later this week or this weekend.> -----Original Message----- > From: Theo Zourzouvillys [mailto:theo@crazygreek.co.uk] > Sent: Wednesday, October 20, 2004 7:37 AM > To: asterisk-users@lists.digium.com > Cc: asterisk-dev@lists.digium.com > Subject: [Asterisk-Users] New Channel Driver: chan_bluetooth > > > Hi, > > after a couple of days work banging my head against the wall > (bloody standards > my arse), i've got chan_bluetooth to a point where it's > starting to function > - certianly more than just proof of concept now. > > The code is far, far from stable, and only been tested with > one dongly > (Cambridge Silicon), and two devices (Nokia 6310i and a > HBH-200 headset) - > and even those devices are not FULLY functional yet. [Asterisk-Users] New Channel Driver: chan_bluetooth
Hi, As you may have noticed I also started working on a bluetooth channel, but since you already have a channel you probably are going to win this contest anyway. I just tested the code in Asterisk 1.0.0 with a Nokia 6210i and a Jabra both connect over RFCOMM and send debug AT messages, but with neighter of them am I able to get any sound. Or make a call out to the phone. I don't know if your code is having the same 'strange' sco timeouts as my test code has but I was pretty sure the Jabra-headset itself worked without those timeout. An extension has been made to BLT/Jabra, but when calling to it nothing happens. I would be happy to help debugging and/or enhancing the code :) Stefan de Konink

Both phones were seen without any problems. The T68i has some (non-Asterisk) related problems where I wasn't able to place a call; with the T637, I can make a call, but only get audio one way (person on the remote end talking to me; the person on the other end doesn't get any audio.) In any case, great start! This is on kernel 2.6.8-pre4, with a CS radio. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | nate carlson | natecars@natecarlson.com | http://www.natecarlson.com | | depriving some poor village of its idiot since 1981 | ------------------------------------------------------------------------

I would really love to play with that, but as everybody knows, Japan is soooo incredibly far advanced in mobile phones that the only phone I could buy here which does have bluetooth works only as a data modem for a Windoze notebook, no voice, no headset support, no addressbook syncing, which is why I then bought an iPod for the $250 the phone would have cost. rgds benjk -- Sunrise Telephone Systems, 9F Shibuya Daikyo Bldg., 1-13-5 Shibuya, Tokyo, Japan.
