asterisk users - Apr 2004 - Forwarding outgoing through an exsiting system

I am setting up an * to add on to an existing phone system. How can I
set it up to pass through typing the 9 to get an outside line? If I skip
ignore 9 pat, will this go the outside line but still let the 9 through
as well. Also if I can hook up faxes and regular phones to the system
and just press 9, can I use the regular telephone interface cards
instead of the X100P?
