asterisk users - Mar 2004 - RxFax questions ?

Hi,

	I been playing with RxFax and it worked fine for me with last
CVS+spandsp-0.1f+tiff-3.5.7.
	I received a FAX and I displayed it with eog and it seems that the
aspect ratio of the image is different, it seems that the received image
is stretched (on the Y-axis). The image resolution is 1728x1092.
	Since I'm a complete ignorant in fax technologies. Is this the normal
behaviour ?

Traditional fax has two resolutions:  98 lines/inch and 196 lines/inch.
Usually the former is used unless you specify the latter when sending.

So, unless you specify fine mode, what you got is normal.

To view it as it would print, you must either stretch it 2x
vertically or view it in software like viewfax? that does
that for you.
