For info, I receive the mailing list on a brand new account that is not used for anything else. Just received, a virus (*apparently*) From: vozip@startwave.com I suppose there may be 8,000 people getting it but just in case.

A virus could just match up addresses randomly from the user's address book and files laying around on the hard drive. Almost all modern virii grab 2 mail addresses and uses one for the from and the other for the to. It doubles the chances of a specific mail delivery will infect a machine. It should either be delivered successfully to the To: addressee or get appropriately bounced to the From: addressee. You just where spoofed. -- Steven Critchfield <critch@basesys.com>
