[Asterisk-Users] FYI: New SIP Flash Image 7940/7960 IP Phone
IP Phone Release 6.1 Bulletin Cisco IP Phone firmware images now contain a Cisco digital signature to provide authentication for improved security. Once firmware version 6.1 is loaded onto a phone, all subsequent firmware versions will be checked for authenticity. Firmware images prior to release 5.0 do not contain a Cisco digital signature and therefore once version 6.1 is loaded onto a phone, all prior firmware releases will be rejected. Only versions 5.0 or greater will be accpected as it contains a Cisco digital signature. Bugs Fixed in SIP 6.1: * SIP phone sends incorrect Call-ID during every SIP Register * Bootup has config errors * Excessive DNS SRV lookup when proxy configured as A record * attended transfer disconnect the original caller, hangs itself * REFER malformed when dialplan matches have user=phone * wrong number of register retries on SIP phone * Timer registration prior to expiration * phone crash if receives SIP message w/contact > 128 bytes * 79x0 does not follow RFC3261 for Via branch field * More than 10 entires in Perosnal Directory not displayed * Issues with ALPHANUMBER softkey when adding speed dial lines * Phone continually resets after config file download * Audible pop heard when using Answer softkey or line button * Phone crashes after bugtrap 0x18 * TFTP GET fails with Solaris 9 tftp server * Phone crash due to CDP delay only when DNS is configured * DHCP T2 timer is less than T1 * Phone resets rtp session when it receives a re-invite * Reg and Invite timers should start 0.5 seconds The SIP phone has 2 new config parameters: local_cfwd_enable - this parameter allows the admin to configure whether or not the phone can do local call forwarding. This is a boolean field (either on or off). the default is 1 which is enabled. local_cfwd_enable : (0 - off, 1 - on (default) ) timer register_delta - this parameter allows the admin to configure the time interval at which re-registration will occur. This is a numeric field in seconds. The valid ranges are 32767 seconds to 0 seconds. The default value is 5 seconds. This means the phone will attempt to re-register 5 seconds before its registeration period expires. timer_register_delta : 5 ; time interval in seconds _________________________________________________________________ Surf the net and talk on the phone with Xtra Jetstream @ http://www.xtra.co.nz/products/0,,5803,00.html !
