asterisk users - Nov 2003 - making outside call with sip phone

Hi All,
 
I have a grandstream sip phone which I have figured out and configured
to make internal calls. How do I now configure asterisk to allow this
phone to make an outside call?

Do you have some sort of device that will allow you to make a call to an outside
line?
