asterisk users - Apr 2003 - change voicemail.conf, how to make it work

after change voicemail.conf. instead of "restart now", is there any
other way to let it take effect?

As far as I gather, you don't need to do anything. Voicemail.conf is
reloaded
every time the voicemail app starts. If that won't work 'reload' is
also a
great way to reload dialplans and configuration.

voicemail.conf is parsed when voicemail gets used, so nothing else is
required.

Most of the config files (except for zapata.conf) will be re-read when you
do a 'reload'

this reminds me of a question that i have thought to ask for some time
now:

is it possible to keep all changing parts of the configuration (voice
mail, conferences, extensions, etc.) in mysql database so that i could
write a web application to manage asterisk?

Hi all,

I want to create a greeting with some music on the background, trying
to use soxmix, which is showed in "man sox". But I simply can not find
it in my RH distribution, not even through google. I remember someone
mentioned in this list, just wonder if you can tell me where to get it.
