On at least two occasions, there''s been a large batch of changes from one address in the Rails wiki, see http://rubyonrails.org/recently_revised/ for yesterday''s round. A cursory look at a few of the pages doesn''t turn up any spam, or indeed any consequential changes. My user page ( http://rubyonrails.org/show/RyanPlatte ) got some content removed from someone using my username. I thought maybe I''d offended someone somehow, so I tried editing the page to something new, but then the page was replaced again with the same content it''d been changed to before. Anyone know what''s going on? -- Ryan Platte

Apparently the demo apps page was modified using my name, leaving only one of my posts to the page. I certainly did not make this change (despite being accused of doing so by Alexy on my user page, and "advised" to be more careful in the future). I also noticed the howtos page was missing LOTS of information last night as well, and I had to go back several revisions to find the howto I was looking for. I don''t know exactly what is going on, but something is certainly going on. -Scott
My user page was rolled back one revision too. Maybe some sort of web spider which accidently triggered rollbacks ? i''m curious, why can anybody use rollback anyways? shouldn''t that be a admin thing?
> i''m curious, why can anybody use rollback anyways? shouldn''t > that be a admin thing? The random rollbacks are due to bad Instiki design. Instiki should use POST not GET to do rollbacks. But actually, the rollbacks are part of the self-healing nature of Instiki where the users themselves can cure any attacks by spammers or others. -- David Heinemeier Hansson, http://www.basecamphq.com/ -- Web-based Project Management http://www.rubyonrails.org/ -- Web-application framework for Ruby http://macromates.com/ -- TextMate: Code and markup editor (OS X) http://www.loudthinking.com/ -- Broadcasting Brain
