GnuCash 1.5.6 is released.
1.5.6 - 23 April 2001
o many misc GUI improvements
o reporting improvements
o updated German and Portuguese translations
o fixes for Solaris
o bug fixes
This is a feature freeze release. This means that until
we branch for 1.6.0, no brand new features will be
accepted into the cvs tree. The branch will probably
occur sometime around the second beta, currently
schedule for May 29.
Things that can be added are:
* work on existing, but incomplete, features,
such as new user dialog & hierarchy export
* small tweaks/improvements to the existing GUI
* bug fixes
As we get closer to the code freeze (May 20), the
size of acceptable changes will become smaller until
only bug-fix-sized changes will get through.
The release schedule is posted below. Note the string
freeze on May 6. Please try to get all new strings into
CVS by that time. This is important to give translators
enough time to do the translations. Of course, if strings
are simply wrong in some way they can still be changed
after that.
