I''m struggling to create VLANs in a generic26 Linux HVM DomU. The Dom0 is based on svn_130. I have a igb0 interface in the Dom0 which works fine both on the untagged and VLAN networks, so the network infrastructure seems to be OK. When I create a Linux HVM DomU based on this interface, I can ping the DomU on the untagged network, but not on any VLAN created inside the DomU. I have also tried to attach an interface based on igb0 using the --vlanid option (rather than creating the VLAN in the DomU) with the same result. The same works fine when I create the same domU on a Debian Lenny based dom0. Any hint or suggestion appreciated. Peter
OK, sorry, just found this in the Bug DB: (RTFBDB) http://bugs.opensolaris.org/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=6890548 I can confirm it''s not Windows-related, just HVM related. Does anyone have an ETA for a fix ? Thanks much, Peter -- This message posted from opensolaris.org

If you can add PV drivers to your HVM guest then VLANs should work properly with the PV interfaces.> Does anyone have an ETA for a fix ?Sorry, no. It''s in the next batch of things to fix. dme. -- David Edmondson, Sun Microsystems, http://dme.org
