xen discuss - Sep 2009 - migrate VMware Server Images with SCSI to xVM Server

Hi

Are there some tools available to migrate VMware Server Images with SCSI
Controller to xVM Server? Or it''s possible to get the same SCSI
Controller in the VM? I didn''t try it, but i think the machines Windows
will not boot on a IDE Controller

No, it''s not possible. The image must have been created with IDE disks
in the first place. (Many Linux versions, however, are happy to switch
automatically from SCSI to IDE)

If it''s only the controller, can''t this work?

Sorry, I meant to say: "it''s not possible without modifying the
guest OS
in the original VM"
