xen discuss - Feb 2009 - disk bus types

I noticed when configuring a virtual disk that you have the choice of 
several bus types. The libvirt docs mention "ide", "scsi",
"virtio",
"xen" & "usb".

I''m curious if there is any performance benefit to using one or the
other?
When would you choose one over the other? Is it based more on the 
capabilities of the guest over anything else?

Also curious if anyone has a good reference site for Xen in general. 
Seems like I''m forever discovering these subtleties and have not yet 
found a good site to learn about them.

On Solaris, there''s little choice. You use ide for HVM guests, and xen
for Xen guests. The others are for different hypervisors.
