Hi All: I''m sorry to re-post the email. I do not get any response from xen-user mail list. the platform is on Xen 4.0.1 with Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU . when I create HVM domain, I found an error: sudo xm create winxp.cfg [2010-11-23 17:00:24 4993] DEBUG (XendDomainInfo:3053) XendDomainInfo.destroy: domid=1 [2010-11-23 17:00:24 4993] DEBUG (XendDomainInfo:2416) No device model [2010-11-23 17:00:24 4993] DEBUG (XendDomainInfo:2418) Releasing devices [2010-11-23 17:00:24 4993] ERROR (XendDomainInfo:106) Domain construction failed Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/local/lib/python2.6/dist-packages/xen/xend/XendDomainInfo.py", line 104, in create vm.start() File "/usr/local/lib/python2.6/dist-packages/xen/xend/XendDomainInfo.py", line 469, in start XendTask.log_progress(31, 60, self._initDomain) File "/usr/local/lib/python2.6/dist-packages/xen/xend/XendTask.py", line 209, in log_progress retval = func(*args, **kwds) File "/usr/local/lib/python2.6/dist-packages/xen/xend/XendDomainInfo.py", line 2912, in _initDomain raise VmError(str(exn)) VmError: (38, ''Function not implemented'') the configuration file is: kernel = "/usr/lib/xen/boot/hvmloader" builder=''hvm'' memory = 1024 vcpus=1 name = "winxp" disk = [''file:/hvm/winxp.img,ioemu:hda,w'', ''file:/hvm/winxp/winxp-pro.iso,ioemu:hdc:cdrom,r''] vif = [ ''type=ioemu, bridge=virbr0'' ] usbdevice=''tablet'' on_poweroff = ''destroy'' on_reboot = ''destroy'' on_crash = ''destroy'' boot=''d'' vnc=1 sdl=0 vncdisplay=3 import os, re arch = os.uname()[4] if re.search(''64'', arch): arch_libdir = ''lib64'' else: arch_libdir = ''lib'' device_model = ''/usr/'' + arch_libdir + ''/xen/bin/qemu-dm'' I have search on the web, but do not find a solution. There are all sorts of things this could be really. Perhaps a version mismatch between toolstack and hypervisor?
