[Xen-devel] Xen unstable full validation results for cset: #16379
Hi all, We finished a full testing for cset: #16379/#16461. Testing fields include Control Panel, Guest Test, Installation, Performance, Stress, Device Model, VTD and TXT etc. IPF/Xen results would be published alone. We found 5 new bugs. The results show the pre-Xen3.2 should has a nice status. Issue list: -------------------------------- 1. [TXT] In weybridge, tboot could not boot dom0 successfully 2. [Stress] HVM RHEL5.1 guest crashed when running crashme. 3. [Guest Test] SMP VISTA HVM guest might be blue screen when doing large I/O in dom0 4. [Device Model] HVM''s ne2k NIC easily lose network. 5. [Device Model] vnif can not coexist with 8139 nic. 6. [Installation] Fedora8 IA32e guest installation failure. 7. [Installation] Fedora7 IA32 SMP guest installation failure. The detailed results please reference the attachment. [Guest Test] SMP VISTA HVM guest might be blue screen when doing >> large I/O in dom0 > >This is under investigation. We found this issue on some 2 cores machines. When scp a large file (5G) to Dom0, SMP VISTA HVM might blue screen. If using disk stress tool, the problem would be more easy to see. The BSOD information is: "a clock interrupt was not received on a secondary processor within the allocated time interval" with Bug Check 0x101.> >> 4. [Device Model] HVM''s ne2k NIC easily lose network. > >Please can you give more details. Is there any guest that actually >requires ne2k anyhow?Should be not. As ne2k is a optional config for HVM domain vif, so we also tested it. But found ne2k is not easy to use like RTL 8139. If so, we could remove the ne2k description in xmexmaple.hvm. :)> >> 5. [Device Model] vnif can not coexist with 8139 nic. >> 6. [Installation] Fedora8 IA32e guest installation failure. > >HVM? Do you test the PV kernel as well?Yes. It is HVM domain. We didn''t try PV installation. The Qemu window would disappear, when doing RPM installation. The special config is "vcpus=2 acpi=1 apic=1 pae=1 memory=1024 blank_disk=5G."> >> 7. [Installation] Fedora7 IA32 SMP guest installation failure. > >HVM? Do you test the PV kernel as well? Is the install crash >the same as >FC8?Yes. This is also HVM domain OS installation. It is not same with F8. The installation kernel would hang. It is a SMP IA32 Fedora7.
