Statistical Programmer - InStep Software - Chicago InStep Software, located in Chicago's downtown Loop, is seeking a statistical programmer with good R skills. This is a full-time, permanent position in support of our data historian, which is used worldwide at nuclear and other power-generating facilities. We are seeking to further automate our data modeling technique, which uses predicted normal behavior to detect impending failures in complex mechanical systems. Experience with time-shifted, multivariate regression or factor analysis would be helpful. The ideal candidate would have a thorough knowledge of both R and C programming and be able to develop software modules for manipulating, managing, and analyzing data. Experience is preferred but individuals with exceptional academic training will be considered. In summary, the candidate should have: * MS or PhD in statistics with related experience. * Experience with the R package. * Experience in C programming. * Strong interpersonal skills and ability to lead an interdisciplinary team. * Creative problem-solving skills and ability to adapt known methods to new contexts. * Excellent oral and written skills.
