Perhaps compressing these video files into a more standard format (e.g AVI/DivX/Xdiv, ogg, swf, etc, would be a great idea to save time and bandwidth for us all, including to Citrix. - SDG _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users

MPEG-4/XVID/DVIX would be a good choice. You could use the open source Kdenlive non-linear video editor to convert the videos to MPEG-4. I have no problems trying to watch the videos in .MTS format using VLC media player. My concern is not the encoding format per se but rather the size of the videos (though the mplayer on Debian Lenny needed special parameters to read the MTS files),. The suggested formats is in the decrease the size, by compressing the videos further. I will take a look today at trying to compress the videos to see what I can do. Thanks. Perhaps a compression utility might be better than compressed video? I say this because it would be lossless, and it might be possible to compress it just as well. I say this because I''m a fan of quality. I suppose the original could be archived somewhere and all would be just as well, but in reality, I have to assume no one is streaming this, and if someone wants to, a low quality version could always be posted on youtube or something. The encoding profile I am using is MPEG-4 2000k 1-pass. There is no noticeable loss of video quality. If you use a lower bitrate for encoding, the filesize could be even smaller still. -- Mr. Teo En Ming (Zhang Enming) Dip(Mechatronics) BEng(Hons)(Mechanical Engineering) Alma Maters: (1) Singapore Polytechnic (2) National University of Singapore My Primary Blog: http://teo-en-ming-aka-zhang-enming.blogspot.com My Secondary Blog: http://enmingteo.wordpress.com My Youtube videos: http://www.youtube.com/user/enmingteo Email: space.time.universe@gmail.com Mobile Phone (Starhub Prepaid): +65-8369-2618 Street: Bedok Reservoir Road Country: Singapore _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users
