[Ocfs2-users] 100% system cpu, ntpd problems, OCFS2 and RH4U3
Hi all! My customer is experiencing problems with 100% system cpu on a 2 node RAC cluster on 9.2.0.7 and OCFS2. They are running RedHat 4 update 3 and has from time to time problems with NTP sync: Nov 27 09:16:04 dlpond32 ntpd[21373]: synchronized to 148.120.231.197, stratum 3 Nov 27 13:50:18 dlpond32 ntpd[21373]: no servers reachable Nov 27 13:56:08 dlpond32 ntpd[21373]: synchronized to 148.120.231.197, stratum 3 Nov 27 13:58:47 dlpond32 ntpd[21373]: no servers reachable They belive it might be a bug in Update 3 of RedHat, but I wonder if anyone have seen problems with OCFS2 generating system load? Best regards H?kon Onsager

Hello, Apologies for a second post. Our senior system admin just sent this to me; " The vsyscall for gettimeofday() was pointing to the wrong entry address in RHEL4 U3. This was fixed as of U4. If the RHEL4.3 kernel is used, vgettimeofday() will only result in dissapointment. Can you upgrade to the RHEL4.4 kernel and re-test? I believe the problem has been resolved." Perhaps this may also be of use. I'm sorry I dont know the bug id for that.
