I'm using gluster on a single server machine to unify an array of storage disks (7 all up) running the glusterfs-1.3.9 package from the public domain. I'm having a persistent problem where for no obviously discernible reason it will occasionally double create files on two of the bricks and then of course the unify translater denies access to them. I'm using the ALU scheduler with the disk-usage prgoram set to update after every file copy (the server tends to have multi-gig files copied to it routinely). When I check the logs they tend to be full of entries like this after I've been copying files around (My namespace brick is just a folder mounted on the main linux file system): 2008-06-25 01:22:46 E [posix.c:1984:posix_setdents] brick-ns: Error creating file /mnt/brick-ns/media/Music/Music V3/26-06-07/AlbumArtSmall.jpg with mode (0100677) 2008-06-25 01:22:46 E [posix.c:1984:posix_setdents] brick-ns: Error creating file /mnt/brick-ns/media/Music/Music V3/26-06-07/Folder.jpg with mode (0100677) 2008-06-25 01:22:46 E [posix.c:1984:posix_setdents] brick-ns: Error creating file /mnt/brick-ns/media/Music/Music V3/26-06-07/AlbumArt_{FAA02AC4-1EEC-43B5-AB90-3BF9E7921FCD}_Small.jpg with mode (0100677) 2008-06-25 01:22:46 E [posix.c:1984:posix_setdents] brick-ns: Error creating file /mnt/brick-ns/media/Music/Music V3/26-06-07/04 Waters of Nazareth (Justice Remix.mp3 with mode (0100777) 2008-06-25 01:22:48 E [posix.c:1984:posix_setdents] brick-ns: Error creating file /mnt/brick-ns/media/Music/Music V3/21-08-07/AlbumArt_{00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000}_Small.jpg with mode (0100666) 2008-06-25 01:23:06 E [posix.c:1984:posix_setdents] brick-ns: Error creating file /mnt/brick-ns/media/Music/Music V3/Renaissance- The Mix Collection (10th Anniversary Edition)/Renaissance- The Mix Collection (10th Anniversary Edition) CD3/AlbumArt_{421F2947-4523-43FA-9D41-9BC263B32FD0}_Large.jpg with mode (0100666) 2008-06-25 01:23:06 E [posix.c:1984:posix_setdents] brick-ns: Error creating file /mnt/brick-ns/media/Music/Music V3/Renaissance- The Mix Collection (10th Anniversary Edition)/Renaissance- The Mix Collection (10th Anniversary Edition) CD3/desktop.ini with mode (0100666) 2008-06-25 01:23:06 E [posix.c:1984:posix_setdents] brick-ns: Error creating file /mnt/brick-ns/media/Music/Music V3/Renaissance- The Mix Collection (10th Anniversary Edition)/Renaissance- The Mix Collection (10th Anniversary Edition) CD3/AlbumArt_{421F2947-4523-43FA-9D41-9BC263B32FD0}_Small.jpg with mode (0100666) 2008-06-25 01:23:06 E [posix.c:1984:posix_setdents] brick-ns: Error creating file /mnt/brick-ns/media/Music/Music V3/Renaissance- The Mix Collection (10th Anniversary Edition)/Renaissance- The Mix Collection (10th Anniversary Edition) CD1/AlbumArt_{5BA80F3A-1E70-4D7E-9353-942167839E57}_Small.jpg with mode (0100666) 2008-06-25 01:23:06 E [posix.c:1984:posix_setdents] brick-ns: Error creating file /mnt/brick-ns/media/Music/Music V3/Renaissance- The Mix Collection (10th Anniversary Edition)/Renaissance- The Mix Collection (10th Anniversary Edition) CD1/AlbumArt_{5BA80F3A-1E70-4D7E-9353-942167839E57}_Large.jpg with mode (0100744) Is there a known solution or patch for this issue yet? I've managed to find reference on the mailing list to only one other instance, but I can't believe many other users of gluster are somehow not noticing the issue? -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
