If you follow the trail from your link, you will find that it still
hasn't been added to the list of special-use domain names and the RFC
actually expired on the 4th September 2025. So while it is proposed to
make '.internal' non routable over the internet, this is still not the
case and it could still be registered (unlikely though this).
In my opinion (for what it is worth), the wiki page should stay as it
is, until such time as '.internal' is fully accepted as a non routable
TLD, similar to '.home.arpa'.
