Yes, that is as expected, it shows that the Samba fileserver deamon
'smdb' has started.

Does the user you are trying to connect to the fileserver exist as a
Samba user on the fileserver ?

After thinking about this, I think I see the problem, reopen the
smb.conf file again, find the line 'client signing = required' and put
a ';' or '#' in front of it, save and close the file, restart
Samba.

No, but this is the point, we'd like to have a completely anonymous 
access since the share is used from multifunction printers to exchange 
scanned pdfs with windows 11 clients.
