I have just fixed a similar (possibly the same) issue in -CURRENT.
Please try the patch at:
http://people.freebsd.org/~csjp/if_ether.1228494489.diff
(Fetch it into /usr/src/sys/netinet and apply there).
Let me know if this solves your problem, if it does I will try to get it
in for the release.
