dtrace discuss - May 2008 - Add dtrace probes to static function

Hi,

Is there any patch available for Solaris U1 to add dtrace probes to static
function? Which update version of Solaris 10 support adding dtrace to static
function?

Dear Jenny,

I''m not know about all the differences between different S10 updates.

Yet as for the pid-provider the question is actually not about static or 
non-static function. Instead what counts is inlined vs. non-inlined 
function. Although compiler inlining for the sake of code optimization 
is clearly much more likely for static functions, but OOH function inlining 
can occur also between different C source modules depending on the compiler 
options and finally function inlining can be prevented also for static 
functions with corresponding #pragma directives OTOH.
