Hi, I am very new with OpenSolaris and Crossbow. I have followed the instruction of how to install crossbow. It finished installing and fixing the conflicts. But after I issue the reboot command then system keep rebooting. It seems that the kernel is panic. My question is what kind of hardware does crossbow support? purely SUN hardware or it can be Dell, HP or any hardware for x86 machines? Any documents that can point me to there. Thanks. You need a GLDv3 nic, though. Current GLDv3 nics are: * bge * e1000g * nge * rge * dmfe * nxge Additionally, you really really want to use bge if you''re doing much with Crossbow. -- Garrett

The following bge MACs have 16 rx rings: BCM5700/5701/5702/5703C/5703S/5704C/5704S I''ve run crossbow on Dell desktops and Acer laptops. Check here for specific hardware components and configurations. http://www.sun.com/bigadmin/hcl/ -Mike
Hi Phuong-Lan,> Hi, I am very new with OpenSolaris and Crossbow. I have followed the instruction of how to install crossbow. It seems that the kernel is panic. >It appears that you were able to install Solaris on your system. And which build of Solaris did you install? Was it build 61 (snv 61)? After that did you try to install the Crossbow bits based on snv 61? If you did that, the system should not panic. If it is, it is a bug and we need to fix that. So can you outline the steps that you did to install Crossbow bits? And what is the panic message before it reboots? Give us all the information you have. Thanks, -krgopi
