[crossbow-discuss] BAD TRAP with Crossbow Beta October 31 2008
Hi. I tried to send this to the mailing list, but it never showed up in the archives, so I''m trying the forum instead... I recently installed the Crossbow Beta October 31 2008 on my SunFire T1000, and let me first say that I''m very pleased with the functionality it provides. What''s not so pleasing is the fact that after installing this, the computer now get very frequent kernel panics. Sometimes it stays up for less than an hour before crashing. The crashes look like this: Nov 12 14:04:15 bahamut unix: [ID 836849 kern.notice] Nov 12 14:04:15 bahamut ^Mpanic[cpu8]/thread=2a101695ca0: Nov 12 14:04:15 bahamut unix: [ID 799565 kern.notice] BAD TRAP: type=34 rp=2a101694c30 addr=60014b2f652 mmu_fsr=0 Nov 12 14:04:15 bahamut unix: [ID 100000 kern.notice] Nov 12 14:04:15 bahamut unix: [ID 839527 kern.notice] sched: Nov 12 14:04:15 bahamut unix: [ID 123557 kern.notice] alignment error: Nov 12 14:04:15 bahamut unix: [ID 381800 kern.notice] addr=0x60014b2f652 Nov 12 14:04:15 bahamut unix: [ID 101969 kern.notice] pid=0, pc=0x139ccc8, sp=0x2a1016944d1, tstate=0x9980001603, context=0x0 Nov 12 14:04:15 bahamut unix: [ID 743441 kern.notice] g1-g7: 3a, 8, 12a1, 28, 60014b2f666, 0, 2a101695ca0 Nov 12 14:04:15 bahamut unix: [ID 100000 kern.notice] Nov 12 14:04:15 bahamut genunix: [ID 723222 kern.notice] 000002a101694940 unix:die+98 (34, 2a101694c30, 60014b2f652, 0, 10a3000, 2a101694a00) Nov 12 14:04:16 bahamut genunix: [ID 179002 kern.notice] %l0-3: 000000000128a468 000002a101694b20 0000000000010000 000000000185c8c0 Nov 12 14:04:16 bahamut %l4-7: 0000000000000000 0000030003f74000 000000000182850c 0000000000000000 Nov 12 14:04:16 bahamut genunix: [ID 723222 kern.notice] 000002a101694a20 unix:trap+6b4 (2a101694c30, 0, e00000034, e, 1828500, 1c00) Nov 12 14:04:16 bahamut genunix: [ID 179002 kern.notice] %l0-3: 000000000128a468 000002a101694b20 0000000000010000 000000000185c8c0 Nov 12 14:04:16 bahamut %l4-7: 0000000000000000 0000030003f74000 000000000182850c 0000000000000000 Nov 12 14:04:17 bahamut genunix: [ID 723222 kern.notice] 000002a101694b80 unix:ktl0+64 (1, 60014b2f644, 3a, 2a101694d8f, 60016b2e100, 3a) Nov 12 14:04:17 bahamut genunix: [ID 179002 kern.notice] %l0-3: 0000030003f74000 0000000000000040 0000009980001603 0000000001020b08 Nov 12 14:04:17 bahamut %l4-7: 000000000192e000 0000000000000000 0000000000000000 000002a101694c30 Nov 12 14:04:18 bahamut genunix: [ID 723222 kern.notice] 000002a101694cd0 mac:mac_rx_srs_long_fanout+90 (60011ea9840, 600226c1020, 86dd, 2a101694e8c, 2a101694e88, 60014b2f666) Nov 12 14:04:18 bahamut genunix: [ID 179002 kern.notice] %l0-3: 000002a101694e90 0000060016b2e17e 0000060014b2f630 0000000000000050 Nov 12 14:04:18 bahamut %l4-7: 000000000192e000 0000000000000000 0000060014b2f63e 000000000000003a Nov 12 14:04:18 bahamut genunix: [ID 723222 kern.notice] 000002a101694d90 mac:mac_rx_srs_fanout+650 (60011ea9840, e, 600226c1020, 2a101695610, 8, 3fff) Nov 12 14:04:19 bahamut genunix: [ID 179002 kern.notice] %l0-3: 000002a101694e90 000002a101695190 000002a101695310 0000000000008100 Nov 12 14:04:19 bahamut %l4-7: 0000000000000000 00000000000086dd 0000000000000086 0000060016b2e170 Nov 12 14:04:19 bahamut genunix: [ID 723222 kern.notice] 000002a101695910 mac:mac_rx_srs_drain+1ec (60011ea9840, 100, 4000112, fffeffff, 10000, 110) Nov 12 14:04:19 bahamut genunix: [ID 179002 kern.notice] %l0-3: 0000060011ea9918 0000060011e98e18 0000060011ea986a 00000600226c1020 Nov 12 14:04:19 bahamut %l4-7: 0000000000000001 0000000000000000 0000000000000000 0000000004000002 Nov 12 14:04:20 bahamut genunix: [ID 723222 kern.notice] 000002a1016959c0 mac:mac_srs_worker+170 (60011ea9840, 0, 0, 139c400, 18f3800, 900000) Nov 12 14:04:20 bahamut genunix: [ID 179002 kern.notice] %l0-3: 0000060011ea9868 0000000000002000 0000000000140000 0000000000003031 Nov 12 14:04:20 bahamut %l4-7: 0000000000000002 0000000000000000 0000000000000000 000000000139c5f8 Nov 12 14:04:21 bahamut unix: [ID 100000 kern.notice] Nov 12 14:04:21 bahamut genunix: [ID 672855 kern.notice] syncing file systems... [crossbow-discuss] BAD TRAP with Crossbow Beta October 31 2008
Hi Nicolas. Thanks for the reply.>It looks like you are hitting 6764898,I tried entering this number in the "Bug Database Search", but got nothing. Am I doing it wrong, or is the description of this bug secret somehow? (I was hoping that by looking at a more detailed description of the bug I would be able to find some way to avoid triggering it while I wait for the fix to be released...) // Marcus -- This message posted from opensolaris.org

BTW you''re not doing anything wrong, unfortunately there''s no straightforward workaround for that panic. We should have new bits out in the next few days.
