[Pkg-xen-devel] domU lenny not working: kernel BUG at lib/radix-tree.c:474!
Trying to create a 32 bit domU is unsuccessful. I also tried some of the older builds from http://people.debian.org/~joeyh/d-i/images and found similar problems Can someone point me to an installer kernel that will work? dom0: Linux dom0test 2.6.18-6-xen-amd64 #1 SMP Tue Aug 19 06:15:09 UTC 2008 x86_64 GNU/Linux Hardware: Intel Pentium D 960 with EMT64 /etc/xen# xm create -c xm-debtest1.cfg install=true install-installerhttp://people.debian.org/~joeyh/d-i/images/daily Using config file "./xm-debtest1.cfg". I didn't expect that this bug would impact non-graphical Xen installation (which isn't supported yet but I was playing with it) but it seems like it does fail even in the text-mode over vfb scenario. If you remove the vfb from your guest configuration and install over the hvc console it ought to work. The Xen images don't currently support graphical install mode anyhow so there's no real loss. Once the guest is installed vfb seems to work again in text mode although I'm sure there are plenty of things you can do to trigger the crash (anything which mmap()s /dev/fb0 will cause it I think). The underlying bug will be fixed once the kernel is uploaded and finds its way into a d-i image. Thanks for you report.
