How long before we can upgrade a ZFS based root fs? Not looking for a Live Upgrade feature, just to be able to boot off a newer release DVD and upgrade in place. Currently using a build 62 based system, would like to start taking a look at some of the features showing up in newer builds. Thanks Mark
In-place upgrade of zfs datasets is not supported and probably never will be (LiveUpgrade will be the way to go with zfs because the cloning features of zfs make it a natural). But the LiveUpgrade changes aren''t ready yet, so for the time being, you really need to reinstall in order to get a later version. It seems like doing a pkgadd -R + bootadm update-archive -R almost works, but some piece is missing (kernel can''t find the ramdisk).
