[Nut-upsuser] How to reset "Shutting Down" Status in Tray-App without re-Starting the monitoring (WIN 7) Computer?
>Hi a>ll, >[looks like I used an ol mailing list last time, so I try again]>Question upfront (for those that do not want to read too much text about my setup): > > >Is there any "trick" how to tell the TRAY APP that the shutdown is "over" and make it return to another (corrected) status WITHOUT re-booting? > >Longer Version:>I am using apcupsdd in a maybe slightly "unusual" setup. > >The UPS supplies multiple appliances (like router etc.) in my office: Router, Switch, NAS, Workstation, and one "Server". > >The server, however, is a notebook - yes, you read right, a notebook. That Notebook can run independently AFTER a shutdown of the UPS for another 4 hours or so, with a bit more intelligence that I am due to install even maybe 8 hours or more. > >The reason for that setup is that I had a number of "leftover" Notebooks and, more significant, the server is used as a home automation server, so the uptime of it should be almost continuosly even when longer power outages appear, which, unfortunately (and one of the reasons for that setup) occours multiple times per year in my region (Spain). The goal is that this server wille running the longest appliance in the whole houshold. > >The shutdown of the UPS is NOT the problem. It occours after about 2 hours when i am also working, after approx. 3-4 hours when I am on travels and "minimum" charge is on the UPS. By monitoring everything thru the home server there are even shutdowns / switch off's of other devices such as the NAS, Work Station or directly attached storage in time to make best use of the UPS for a very long "survival time" of the home server. > >THE ONLY problem I have is, that after a shutdown of the UPS (and in most cases NOT a shutdown of the server), I cannot "correct" the status in the tray, which, in case I am away, is a bit uncomfortable when accessing the server via VNC. > >So therefor the question again: Any way to "reset" the status of the tray without shutting down the machine running apcupsd? > >Thanks a lot to help me tweaking out that tiny "bug". > >Regards >J?rgen > >-------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... If that doesn't do the job, try asking in a Win 7 forum. Roger
