Gluster users - May 2022 - Choice of RHEL based distro for Gluster server platform

Is there anything to be aware of or consider when deciding which RHEL clone
(probably Rocky or Alma) to deploy for machines intended to run gluster
server ?

Not really. Gluster works on Debian-based systems and on SuSE-based, so you have
plenty of options.
P.S.: I'm not sure about BSD.
