Specifically, it appears that smbclient can not handle file names on the Linux
side that include special characters. While this can be worked around on a
single file, is there some way to fix this on subfolders when smbclient is in
recursive mode?

Subject: [Samba] smbclient special characters
Running Samba with fruit, smb is doing a good job managing illegal Apple
filenames like 'myoddjob -> urPrbNow' but smbclient seems to not have
the same capabilities.
Is there an item I'm missing that would allow smbclient to also mangle
filenames as needed for Apple or is this somehow tied to the fruit: extensions?
In the example above the greater than symbol causes smbclient to fail.
