samba - May 2021 - Hoping someone can shed some light on this issue

OK, try this smb.conf:

[global]
workgroup = WORKGROUP
security = user
map to guest = Bad User
log file = /var/log/samba.log.%m
log level = 2
max log size = 1000
printing = bsd
server min protocol = SMB2
client min protocol = SMB2

[pi_home]
 ? path = /opt/oracle/psft/pt/hcm_pi_home
 ? comment = Samba share for PI Home directory
 ? guest ok = yes

[tools_client]
 ? path = /opt/oracle/psft/pt/tools_client
 ? comment = Samba share for Tools Client directory

 ? guest ok = yes

Do not create any Samba users, you should then be able to connect with 
any user.
