I am trying to compile gluster for ARM.

It is my own distribution

Did anyone do so?

What specifically do I need in order to compile for ARM? Isthere any help docs
for this?

It is already path of Fedora, Debian, CentOS and other distributions
that run on different ARM flavours. The build process is the same for
all architectures.
