Shorewall users - Nov 2003 - RCS (or something else) and Shorewall integration

Does anyone has experience using RCS (or similar tool) to track changes in 
Shorewall config files ?

In particular, an automated way to avoid going directly in config files to 
make the changes, without the Version Control tool be aware of this.

Any hints ?
