Hi all, I setup a Firewall with Shorewall (1.4.8) under Linux. How could I get the RealPlayer G2/V8 to work under Shorewall ? What rules do I have to add ? Thanks for your answers. Hi, "shorewall show log" is empty. What else could I try ? And be sure that you have logging set up correctly so that "shorewall show log" actually works when Shorewall is logging messages. -Tom -- Tom Eastep \ Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool Shoreline, \ http://shorewall.net Washington USA \ teastep@shorewall.net

My example assumed that it was running on a single computer behind the firewall. The answer will be different if you are running Realplayer on the firewall itself. -Tom -- Tom Eastep \ Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool Shoreline, \ http://shorewall.net Washington USA \ teastep@shorewall.net
Ok, I will try to explain the network. It looks like this: DSL/Internet --------- Firewall (Shorewall) ----------- wlan0 (internal network) Logging is setup via ULOG and it is working. I ran the RealPlayer on a Linux box on the Internal Network. The Internal network is masqueraded. Hope this helps more. One thing that I''ve noticed -- I use Squid running in my DMZ as a proxy (manual from my Linux system) and in that config, Real Networks doesn''t seem to attempt any net->loc connections. -Tom -- Tom Eastep \ Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool Shoreline, \ http://shorewall.net Washington USA \ teastep@shorewall.net _______________________________________________ Shorewall-users mailing list Post: Shorewall-users@lists.shorewall.net Subscribe/Unsubscribe: https://lists.shorewall.net/mailman/listinfo/shorewall-users Support: http://www.shorewall.net/support.htm FAQ: http://www.shorewall.net/FAQ.htm
