Hi, I have a small network at home running shorewall as a firewall. I recently setup a smtp service on the firewall for relaying outgoing emails. I just want to know is there a way to redirect all the outgoing smtp connection to the firewall itself, so the smtp service on the firewall handle all the smtp relay for the internal network. Thanks! Lester

Thanks! There is a current thread on the list entitled "Virusfilter with shorewall" that discusses this very topic. -Tom -- Tom Eastep \ Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool Shoreline, \ http://shorewall.net Washington USA \ teastep@shorewall.net

Thanks! >You could probably do it with a REDIRECT just like setting up a transparent proxy, but the ''more correct'' way would be to block outgoing smtp from the ''loc'' zone and only allow the ''fw'' zone to hit smtp. Then, configure to hosts to use the firewall as their smtp server/smart host/whatever-your-verbage. -- David T Hollis <dhollis@davehollis.com>
