[R-jobs] Postdoctoral Position in Biostatistics/Bioinformatics
Job Title : Postdoctoral Position in Biostatistics/Bioinformatics Background The joint research unit between bioM?rieux, international leader in in vitro diagnostic, and Hospices Civils de Lyon, second-largest University Hospital Network in France, develops a research program dedicated to the study of injury induced immunosuppression. This program aims at (i) describing and understanding the mechanisms leading to post-injury immune dysfunctions as well as their association with increased risk of health-care associated infections or fatal outcomes, (ii) identifying and developing innovative biomarkers that could help to monitor immunosuppression and stratify patients in clinical trials. Within this structure, a position funded for 2 years (post-doctoral or equivalent) in bioinformatics and biostatistics is open for recruitment. Job Description Bioinformatics to analyze high-throughput datasets from transcriptomic such as microarrays, RNA-seq. Biostatistics and epidemiological analyses addressing the issue of healthcare-associated infections and biomarker evaluation in case control or cohort studies : multivariate analyses, survival studies, etc ... The candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary group of several research teams with expertise in Immunology, Molecular Biology, Transcriptomics, Biostatistics and BioInformatics. Required qualifications Highly motivated candidates must hold a Ph.D. or engineer degree with a strong background in bioinformatics and in biostatistics. Strong skills in routine biostatistics and bioinformatics tools (R statistical language, python) are required. Expertise in transcriptomics is desirable. The candidate should be able to communicate and work in English and also preferably in French.
