I am experiencing difficulties connecting Icecast to Tunein. Are there any facilities available to help me through this process or a step by step guide. Tunein is a directory from what I can tell is does not broadcast anything to connect to. You would have to dig into there webpage to access the url need to connect to the stream. This is what I can tell from my short examination of the site. David, You'll have to be way more specific. What you mean by connect Icecast to Tunein.com"? are you trying to submit your radio to their directory? if so, take a look at this page: http://tunein.com/syndication/new/?IsBroadcaster=true On Tue, Jun 20, 2017 at 4:57 PM, David Saunders <abitar.com at gmail.com> wrote:> Tunein is a directory from what I can tell is does not broadcast anything > to connect to. If your trying to get listed your format should be in http://<icecast server domain>:<Icecat port>/<mount>.m3u example: http://example.com:8000/mystreamount.m3u On Tue, Jun 20, 2017 at 9:57 AM, David Saunders <abitar.com at gmail.com> wrote:> Tunein is a directory from what I can tell is does not broadcast anything > to connect to. Here's a description of how their API works and what you have to send it. I don't have a solution for sending it from the server and would LOVE to know one myself! In the absence of a server-based solution, these guys offer an inexpensive widget that scrapes the metadata from the stream and sends it to TuneIn: http://shoutcastwidgets.com/tunein.php If you were after something else, then hopefully one of the other responses will help. --R

Turned it all off when I took a job with a large internet streaming music service. The way my setup worked was the automation system was Rivendell. I used a script I found online that would update the Icecast stream title with the currently playing artist and song. This was triggered by Rivendell on song change. I also added into that script the API hook to update the artist and title with TuneIn, using wget or curl. The downside was, as I recall, that TuneIn only did song/title updates on one of the two big mobile platforms. Like Android would update but IOS wouldn't, or vice-versa. Hopefully they've fixed that because I plan to return to internet streaming at some point in the future! Good luck! - Ethan
