Any idea when the next version will be released and what kind of new features
will be included in it?

We are planning on a 2.3 release soon and many of the new feature are 
already present in karl's branch of icecast and are just being moved over 
to trunk.   Things like "on-demand relays, url-based authenticator, 
intro-file, fallback to file...".. There are probably more that I am 
forgetting about...I think at the moment we are waiting for karl to merge 
the url-auth bit into trunk and for me to write a php-based app that will 
fit into the url-auth bit...Shouldn't be too much longer.. :)
