Icecast - Jun 2005 - Forums, Lists and Spam

Even with forums spam can happen. The most likely cause of spam is people
putting there email address in the body of the message either telling someone to
email them or in a signature line.

As for spamming the icecast mailing list users, if you goto 
http://lists.xiph.org/pipermail/icecast/ you will see the archives for the list
and the software they use edits email addresses so they can't be just copied
from the site and spammed right away.

Yes Jason i understand your comment and the way the technology works
but just as easily as i can copy and paste your address Jason@Weatherserver.net
i could be anyone else doing the same thing
one at a time from any new message that go through the list

Folks, what is it that you suddenly start talking about spam, even in two 
different threads? I rarely get spam on my mailing list address and I'm 
subscribed to several lists with the same address.
