Icecast - Jan 2005 - pidfile disabled

The pidfile is not being created on the server I am running icecast2 on (FreeBSD
4.11). The changelog in the source directory says the pidfile was disabled. How
was
it disabled, why was it disabled, and is there any reason I shouldn't
re-enable it?

Have you uncommented the entry in the config file and set it to some place 
which the server can write to?

No reason to enable or disable it, if you want it, enable it.

Shouldn't it be a compile time option ?
