I accidentaly re-ripped some of my CDs and did take this as a chance to do some comparison. Here is what I have found for on of the songs. Peak level 100.0% Track quality 100.0% Copy CRC C8F5065F Track not present in database Used drive : _NEC DVD_RW ND-3500AG Adapter: 0 ID: 1 Read mode : Secure with NO C2, accurate stream, disable cache Combined read/write offset correction : 0 Overread into Lead-In and Lead-Out : Yes Additional command line options : --best -V -T "artist=%a" -T "title=%t" -T "album=%g" -T "date=%y" -T "tracknumber=%n" -T "genre=%m" -T "comment=EAC 0.95beta2 / FLAC 1.1.2 --best" %s Peak level 99.1% Track quality 99.9% Copy CRC DFD55D78 Accurately ripped (confidence 6) [60892C93] Copy OK Used drive : _NEC DVD_RW ND-3500AG Adapter: 1 ID: 0 Read mode : Secure Utilize accurate stream : Yes Defeat audio cache : No Make use of C2 pointers : Yes Read offset correction : 48 Overread into Lead-In and Lead-Out : Yes Fill up missing offset samples with silence : Yes Delete leading and trailing silent blocks : No Null samples used in CRC calculations : Yes Used interface : Native Win32 interface for Win NT & 2000 Gap handling : Not detected, thus appended to previous track Additional command line options : --best -V -T "artist=%a" -T "title=%t" -T "album=%g" -T "date=%y" -T "tracknumber=%n" -T "genre=%m" -T comment="%e" -T "comment=EAC (Secure Mode)" %s When I decompress the first one the file size is 50,826,764 bytes vs. 50,869,100 bytes for the second one. The first one definitely seems to be accurate according to the result. I assume the second one should be as well because all song are reported as Accurately ripped (confidence 6). So then why do I get different sizes when decompression the flac files? Thanks --------------------------------- Looking for last minute shopping deals? Find them fast with Yahoo!
