Hi all, I am trying to run the FLAC decompression at optimal performance, but the CPU utilization averages only around 60%. I have a suspicion that this is a desired behaviour to enable run-time decompression without slowing any other programs (i.e. players) down. There should not be any IO bottlenecks on the machine that I am using. Can anybody confirm my suspicions? Are there any workarounds? Sincerely, Henrik Pettersen http://www.shazamentertainment.com

Are there any workarounds?I haven't looked at CPU utilzation much, but it's dependent on your system. it could be that the decoding is fast enough the the disk reads are actually a limiting factor. none of the currently code attempts to limit utilization. it may be a side effect in some of the players though.
