Why bother compiling Samba yourself, you can get the latest Samba debs from here: http://apt.van-belle.nl/ Rowland

[Samba] Samba 4.10.7 question with external DNS Server
I think his question was. Is there a way to convert flatfile to samba-AD dns. As far i know, not, but that should be pretty easy to script. [Samba] Samba 4.10.7 question with external DNS Server
Hi Maurizio, two more options I used successfully myself (actually in combination): - BIND9_DLZ DNS Back End allows to define non-AD-managed zones that are served in parallel to AD managed zones - bind dns_forwarder allows you to delegate what ever is not managed by bind on DC to another DNS server (in my case a pi-hole). We need to be the DNS server, either via our plugin to BIND9 or with our internal code.
