Does ssh on the server allow root to login with a password ?
see /etc/ssh/sshd_config

I saw :  user XXXX\administrator by (uid=0) 

normal, wel in debian you have for example 

in /etc/pam.d/common-account 
account required                        pam_krb5.so minimum_uid=1000 

What is the minimum UID for your logins ?
