[Pkg-kde-talk] Transitioned 3.4.3 in Sid; 3.5.0 on alioth
Hello, KDE 3.4.3 is now largely in Sid, and had made the libstdc++ allocator transition. Thus all other KDE binaries must be rebuilt against the new kdelibs4c2a and libarts1c2a. Because the build infrastructure automatically sets dep-wait upon packages that demand unsatisfiable build-dependencies, there is no need to wait for arts/kdelibs to be built on all architectures as was advised in previous transitions. Instead, just set build-depend of>= 4:3.4.3 on all KDE modules that you build against. Also, KDE 3.5.0 was just released, and we plan to upload it to experimental fairly soon; but first we''re gathering packages at http://pkg-kde.alioth.debian.org/kde-3.5.0/. If you could add your own packages here, then they can get some testing before being uploaded to experimental, where many users will no doubt make use of them, their "experimental" status notwithstanding. If you see any advantage in copying the 500MB to pkg-kde, no problem. -- No?l K?the <noel@debian.org> Debian GNU/Linux, www.debian.org -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed... As I''m sure you''re aware, though, kde-i18n in unstable needs to be re-uploaded to depend on kdelibs4c2a, as do the packages on p.d.o (since the kde-3.5.0 packages are also transitioned). It would be nice if, once 3.5.0 kde-i18n is rebuilt, it could be uploaded to http://pkg-kde.alioth.debian.org/kde-3.5.0/kde-i18n, to make it easy for users to get. Just be sure to make everything group writeable, so we can clean up later and free the space. If you prefer not to upload to alioth, maybe just send a mail to debian-kde@lists.debian.org telling users where to find the packages. Thanks! I think this is the best instead of using my people.d.o URL. -- No?l K?the <noel debian.org> Debian GNU/Linux, www.debian.org -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed...
